Stocks steady after short week with more records

Wall Street was mainly unchanged but hovering near record levels Thursday, according to the Associated Press. Futures for the S&P 500 Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq each ticked up less than 0.1% before the bell. Treasury yields headed lower.

Markets will be closed Friday for the July 4 holiday.

Benchmark U.S. crude oil lost 14 cents to $67.31 Thursday, while Brent crude, the international standard, dropped 21 cents to $68.90.

On Wednesday, the S&P 500 had set its third record in four days.
