Trade on Wall Street picked up Friday, keeping the market on track for weekly gains, the Associated Press reports. This would be the third winning week in the last four.
The S&P 500 climbed 0.6% to land just shy of its record and is on track to recover most of its losses from last week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and Nasdaq added 0.4% and 0.6%, respectively.
Gilead Sciences rose 8.4% for one of the market’s largest gains after reporting financial results that beat analysts’ forecasts.
Expedia Group advanced 6.6% after also reporting encouraging financial results.
Technology companies gave markets an additional boost, with Nvidia rising 0.8% and Microsoft up 0.6%.
Treasury yields edged higher. The yield on the 10-year Treasury ticked up to 4.28% from 4.25% late Thursday. The yield on the two-year Treasury rose to 3.76% from 3.73% late Thursday.
