Cathy Stepp, Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, is leaving to take a federal job as deputy administrator with the Environmental Protection Agency in Kansas City, a regional office.
DNR Deputy Secretary Kurt Thiede was appointed interim secretary by Gov. Scott Walker, and will take over on Aug. 31.
