Wisconsin’s unemployment numbers are returning to rates close to before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, according to a report by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in January dropped to 3.8%, down from a revised December rate of 4%. The U.S. unemployment rate dropped from 6.7% to 6.3%, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In April 2019, Wisconsin’s unemployment spiked to 13.6% after measures were enacted at the state level to limit business activity.
