The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development announced that according to recently released U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics for April, the seasonally adjusted employment estimates show that Wisconsin’s preliminary unemployment rate held steady to tie the record low of 2.8% from the previous month. Wisconsin’s labor force participation rate was 66.5% in April, unchanged from March, and 4.3 percentage points higher than the national rate of 62.2% for the same period. Wisconsin’s total nonfarm jobs increased by 2,700 from March to April while private-sector jobs increased by 3,100 over the same period.
