State unemployment rate remains at 3.1%

The state unemployment rate in June was unchanged from May at 3.1%, maintaining its lowest rate since June 1999, according to the Department of Workforce Development, which just released the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics for May with preliminary estimates for June.

Preliminary data, which is subject to change in subsequent reports, shows Wisconsin gaining 38,400 non-farm jobs and 35,700 private-sector jobs from June 2016 to June 2017. From May to June, the state added 3,600 private-sector jobs.
