State tax credits to aid expansion at Mod-Tech Industries

Gov. Scot Walker has announced that announced that Mod-Tech Industries in Shawano will create 48 new positions and retain 52 existing jobs as part of a $2.8 million expansion plan that will leverage the state’s economic development tax credit program.

Mod-Tech industries, a supplier of marine and transportation equipment, said its expansion plans are linked to an increase in business orders for 2012 and beyond.

The company has grown from $360,000 in sales in 1988 to sales of more than $7 million in 2008. Many of its main customers are Wisconsin-based businesses.
