Madison’s downtown will welcome back Maxwell Street Days beginning next Thursday, according to WMTV15. The 48th annual Summer Sidewalk Sale will take place along State Street July 17-19 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and July 20 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Businesses will offer discounts, expanded outdoor dining experiences, live music and special activities. A full list of offerings and participating shops is available here.
Madison’s Maxwell Street Days, inspired by a 19th-century outdoor market on Maxwell Street in Chicago, was started by Madison clothing store and tailor shop Martin’s nearly 50 years ago.
