A new 7-Eleven convenience store will be going up along State Street — near Lake Street — in downtown Madison, across from a Walgreen’s and State Street Mall.
The store will not sell gas, and likely won’t receive city approval to sell alcoholic beverages, but will serve foot traffic from its proximity to UW–Madison.
Work is already underway to renovate the building and the new store is slated to open by late October.
