The City Council announced last week that late-night vending will continue on Madison’s State Street, but on slightly different days and for fewer hours, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

The number of food trucks allowed in the 700 and 800 blocks of the street, open to pedestrians only, will be five rather than three. Vendors will be allowed to set up on Library Mall Wednesday–Saturday from 8 p.m–2:30 a.m.; the previously-allowed hours were Thursday–Saturday night from 9 p.m.–4 a.m.

The changes work to address safety concerns related to those coming out of downtown bars at 2 a.m. on weekdays or 2:30 a.m. on weekends.
