The Wisconsin Senate has passed a scaled-down version of a COVID-19 relief package and Gov. Tony Evers has indicated he will sign the measure if it can clear the state Assembly, according to a release from the administration.

Last week, Assembly Republicans passed their package and Evers said he opposed it. The Senate Republicans pared down the proposal and removed numerous provisions opposed by the governor and other Democrats. The pared-down package was passed by the Senate this week in a 292 vote. If it passes the Assembly, the bill will go to Evers’ desk for signing.
