Trailing every other Midwestern state, Wisconsin ranked 35th overall nationally in private sector job growth during Gov. Scott Walker’s first term.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Wisconsin had 131,515 more private-sector jobs in 2014 than in 2010, representing just 52.6% of the 250,000 jobs Walker vowed to create during his first term. With just 9,463 more business establishments in 2014 than in 2010, Walker also failed to achieve his campaign pledge to create 10,000 businesses in his first term.

Additionally, the average private-sector annual wage in Wisconsin in 2014 was $43,661, trailing the national average of $51,295.
