The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development estimates that COVID-19 and resulting business closures will cause the jobless rate in Wisconsin to soar to nearly 27 percent, according to a story in the Wisconsin State Journal.
The estimate projects that nearly 725,000 state residents across 48,000 private establishments are out of work due to the health crisis.
