For years, the State of Wisconsin has considered redeveloping the Hill Farms State Office building property at Sheboygan Avenue and Segoe Road in Madison, and now it has issued an RFP for the project. The RFP calls for a $197 million building that would replace the current structure and would include 2,500 parking stalls in ramps and surface spaces. The developer selected by the state would be required to purchase the current Hill Farms office building as well as the remaining land at the site to make way for a 600,000-square-foot structure that would eventually house all or parts of the Department of Transportation, the Department of Employee Trust Funds, the Public Service Commission, the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance, the Department of Financial Institutions, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., and the Department of Administration.
