Senate Bill 344, now 2021 Wisconsin Act 195, has been signed into law by Gov. Tony Evers. The law codifies interior design legislation and expands the scope of interior design in Wisconsin. Authored by Sen. Dale Kooyenga and Rep. Cody Horlacher, Wisconsin Act 195 reinforces the role of Wisconsin interior designers to protect occupant health safety in their work through substantial practice rights and scope of practice. The legislation also allows Wisconsin registered interior designers to stamp and seal construction documents following Department of Safety and Professional Services Bureau guidelines.
