The state Senate approved a $1 million Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. advertising campaign earlier this year urging Illinois millennials to move to Wisconsin for jobs, mostly with Foxconn in mind. Now, legislators have approved spending $6.8 million more to expand the campaign to Detroit, Minneapolis, and other areas and the measure is on Gov. Scott Walker’s desk.

In a report from the Wisconsin State Journal, opponents called the expenditures “a waste,” arguing the money could have been spent on better causes.

Foxconn in southeastern Wisconsin is gearing up to hire 13,000 workers for a $10 billion plant it is building in Racine County.
