State invests $2 million for mental health services to underserved communities

Gov. Tony Evers announced a $2 million investment to support mental and behavioral health services for underserved communities, according to a statement from the Evers administration. Communities including Hmong and Southeast Asian Wisconsinites will be served through the Wisconsin United Coalition of Mutual Assistance Association Inc. The new investment will allow the nonprofit organization to expand its work statewide through its Project Resiliency initiative providing increased communication regarding suicide prevention resources, training around suicide and mental health needs, and adopting culturally responsible training and curriculum for health providers.
