The Wisconsin REALTORS Association reported that February home sales statewide fell 2.6% compared to February 2016.

With the strong economy, a low unemployment rate statewide (3.9%), and the low interest rate environment, WRA officials had anticipated more sales. Only the Northeast region saw an increase (6.1%) over last February.

In Dane County, the median price jumped from $225,000 in February 2016 to $247,000 this year, a 9.8% increase.

Dane County sales increased by 20, from 351 last February to 371 this year, but the 12-county South Central region dropped overall, from 730 sales in February 2016 to 711 (-2.6%) in 2017.
