State exports to Canada and Mexico helped spur a record year in 2014. The value of Wisconsin’s agricultural exports grew to $3.7 billion, an increase of 13.6% over 2013, nearly three times greater than the growth rate for total U.S. agriculture exports in 2014, according to a release from the governor’s office.

Increases were also reported in exports of water technology-related products (+ 7.4%), biotech (+6.8%), and health care (+1%). From 2013 to 2014, the value of exported goods to Canada increased 5.5% while exports to Mexico increased 12.7%. Exports to China and Japan decreased by 5.7% and 3.4%, respectively.

For the year, total Wisconsin exports hit an all-time high of $23.43 billion in goods, which represented a 1.4% increase from the previous year.
