State ends fiscal year with $135 million surplus

According to a report released today by the state Department of Administration, the state’s general fund has an undesignated balance of $135.6 million as of the end of the fiscal year, which ended June 30.

For the year, general-purpose tax revenue came in at $14.5 billion, compared to $13.95 billion in the previous fiscal year, a 4.3% increase.

General-purpose revenue expenditures, which excludes fund transfers, were $15.3 billion, $271 million less than what was originally budgeted, the report said.
