According to a new study, Wisconsin’s bioscience industry includes more than 1,600 companies that employ nearly 36,000 people and pay above average salaries.
The 2015 Wisconsin Bioscience Economic Development Report says workers in the biosciences fields average $73,241 in annual salary, which is more than $30,000 above what other private-sector employees in Wisconsin make.
The report also says the biosciences industry plays an indirect role in close to 70,000 other jobs throughout the state. The total economic impact of biosciences in Wisconsin is $27 billion.
