The addition of tax auditors has resulted in 20% higher corporate tax collections in the state, according to a new report from the Wisconsin Business Forum.

Revenues from Wisconsin’s corporate tax totaled $1.61 billion in the 2019–20 fiscal year ending in June, which represents an increase of $269.8 million over the previous year. Additional spending on state auditing is likely the reason for the increased collections, according to the report. The report analyzed figures from the nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau.
