Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC), the state chamber of commerce, kicked off Chamber of Commerce Month on Wednesday, according to a statement from the organization. Throughout September, WMC will work with Wisconsin’s 265 local chambers to highlight the role they play in communities across the state. Chambers of Commerce work to improve the state’s economy through advocacy, education, and economic development. In addition, these chambers promote tourism, business-focused programming, and community events. In recognition of Chamber of Commerce Month, Gov. Tony Evers signed a proclamation at the request of the Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives, a division of WMC.
