For the first nine months of 2013, the value of Wisconsin’s agricultural exports grew 6% compared to the same period in 2012, according to the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. The state exported more than $2.3 billion worth of agricultural goods between January and September.

Exports of dairy-related products totaled $275 million in the nine-month period, a 34% increase from 2012.

Canada was the top importer of Wisconsin agricultural products, with $1.1 billion of product going to our neighbors to the north. Canada also imports almost all of Wisconsin’s ethanol exports, valued at $133 million during the nine-month time frame.
