Madison Metropolitan School District’s (MMSD) new superintendent, Dr. Joe Gothard, will start in his new role on May 20, according to WMTV15. He will finish serving as superintendent for St. Paul Public Schools on May 17.
Gothard will visit Madison next week in preparation for the move. He will later visit MMSD schools and meet parents, students, and community leaders. He will work with current Interim Superintendent Lisa Kvistad and begin establishing priorities for the next school year with the Board of Education.
