SSM Health and UW Health are now vaccinating employees with the arrival of the first shipments of COVID-19 vaccine doses. UW Health began vaccinating employees on Monday and SSM Health began today.
Because the production of the vaccine won’t immediately match demand, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has recommended a phased approach to vaccinations with front–line health care workers first to receive them. Once health care workers have been vaccinated, the next phase of distribution will expand to include other essential workers and high-risk patients. In a later phase, the vaccine will be available to all members of the general public.
