SSM Health Dean Medical Group sues leaving orthopedic surgeons

A lawsuit filed in Dane County Circuit Court by SSM Health Dean Medical Group on Nov. 30 alleges Dr. Jason Sansone and Dr. Brian Keyes violated their employment contracts. According to a Wisconsin State Journalreport, the two orthopedic surgeons resigned in November to start an independent outpatient surgery center for orthopedics in Sun Prairie. The suit states Sansone and Keyes engaged in “actions designed to disrupt, sabotage, and harm Dean Medical Group” and that they encouraged other orthopedic surgeons at the organization to join them in forming a competing practice.
