A 58-acre, $15.6 million indoor/outdoor sports complex is being proposed for Sun Prairie near the intersection of Hwy. 151 and Reiner Road. The Wisconsin Regional Athletic Complex, championed by the nonprofit Wisconsin Athletic Foundation, would include a 135,000-square-foot indoor facility large enough for a full-sized football or lacrosse field, batting cages, a rock-climbing wall, classrooms, and a two-story bar and grill. The exterior would include five multipurpose fields, including one with lights, two baseball diamonds, and parking for 460 vehicles.

The complex would draw athletes and clubs from around the state and Midwest, according to a story in the Wisconsin State Journal. The foundation is launching a fundraising campaign for the project, which must still be approved on several levels. Foundation members would like to break ground this year and are hoping to launch the facility in 2015.
