Spectrum still hiring, shifts jobs to India

Fifteen Spectrum Brands employees in accounting-related positions will be let go after being informed that their jobs were being outsourced to India.

Spectrum is in its fifth and final year of an agreement with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. for a $4 million loan, provided it kept 470 full-time employees and invested at least $40 million in capital improvements.

In fact, Spectrum now has 600 employees, plans to hire 30 new positions, and reports it has made $71 in capital improvements.

The company is also planning a $5 million expansion of its Middleton headquarters to accommodate future growth.
