Spectrum’s Training, Experience and Connections Hub (TECH) program, started in 2021, has offered approximately 10 UW-Madison School of Computer, Data & Information Science (CDIS) graduates the opportunity annually to rotate through various Spectrum departments while earning a full-time wage. Enrollees can find what departments suit their skill sets the best with the opportunity to stay on full-time at the completion of the program.
To date, more than 30 graduates have participated in the program, and Spectrum has admitted eight new students for the June 2025 cohort. More than 90% of the students have stayed with Spectrum in full-time roles, and 60% of the students receive a promotion within their first year after the program. This private-public partnership has allowed students to find jobs immediately after graduation.
CDIS has similar partnerships with other organizations, such as American Family Insurance, Epic and GE Healthcare.
