Spectrum Brands continues to expand its dog product portfolio with an announcement that the Middleton company will purchase PetMatrix, a New Jersey company that produces healthier, rawhide-free dog chews.

PetMatrix, which is reportedly on track to make $75 million in sales this year, produces DreamBone and SmartBones chews made from extruded grains, chicken, and vegetables, according to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal.
