Spectrum Brands posts solid 3Q earnings

For its fiscal third quarter of 2014, Middleton-based Spectrum Brands Holdings saw earnings of $78 million ($1.47/diluted share) on sales of $1.13 billion. That’s up from profits of $36.1 million (69 cents/diluted share) on sales of $1.1 billion last year.

The company’s global batteries and appliances division also saw a positive increase, reporting sales of $494.8 million for the quarter, up from $491.6 million for the same quarter in 2013.

Spectrum saw increased sales in all of its divisions, with the exception of pet supplies.
