Spectrum Brands reported increased revenues for its fourth fiscal quarter ending Sept. 30, but the Madison-based company also saw a net loss for the quarter. Revenues came in at $1.1 billion, up from $832.6 million for the same period in 2012, but the company posted a net loss of $36.7 million (70 cents/diluted share), compared with profits of $5.5 million (10 cents/share) for the same quarter last year. The loss was related to a debt refinancing that occurred during the quarter, while the increased sales were attributed to the company’s acquisition of Stanley Black & Decker’s hardware and home improvement unit in December 2012.
