Spaulding Clinical Research in West Bend will receive $850,000 in tax credits through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., and create up to 183 jobs related to its continued development of cardiac safety equipment.

The announcement was made today by Gov. Scott Walker, who noted that Wisconsin is one of the leading states in medical innovation, particularly medical device manufacturing.

According to the WEDC, the tax credits will be distributed annually in direct relation to the number of new, full-time positions created and filled over a two-year period.

With plans to become a state-of-the-art cardiac core lab, Spaulding will make what it called a “significant investment” in its cardiac safety testing services by developing and patenting both equipment and processes. The company is set to launch its Spaulding iQ™ Electrocardiograph in non-research medical markets such as physician offices and home care settings.
