The Madison city council unanimously approved giving Rule Enterprises and Movin’ Out Inc. nearly $2 million to help build a low-cost housing project on the city’s south side, according to a story from the Wisconsin State Journal.
The funding will come from the city’s Affordable Housing Fund to help support the apartment portion of a six-story, 150 rental-unit building planned for a city-owned lot at 1402 S. Park St. Ninety-four of the units would be affordable for those with incomes at or below 50 percent of the county median income. Some would be geared to those at 30 percent of the county median income.
