Vegan restaurant Sookie’s, located at 260 W. Gilman St., closed June 30, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The business originally opened at 502 State St. in March 2022 before moving to the Gilman Street location last summer.
Owner John McCune cited declining sales in the decision to close, as well as increased competition from newer plant-based restaurants.
