Snoopy has proven to be a juggernaut property in more than just comic strips.

Sony is buying a 41% stake in the Peanuts comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz, and its characters, including popular dog Snoopy, from WildBrain, the Associated Press reports.

The deal with the Canadian company is valued at $457 million, both companies confirmed Friday.

Sony already owns a 39% stake, bringing it up to 80%. The Schultz family will still own the remaining 20%.
