A $2.5 million parcel of nearly 109 acres of farmland was recently purchased by Dane County for the purpose of developing an 18-megawatt solar farm, according to a report by the Wisconsin State Journal.
The county is currently seeking proposals for the project that will be located just east of the county landfill near the town of Cottage Grove. Dane County Executive Joe Parisi hopes the project will be designed in 2021.
