The University of Wisconsin-Madison runs a work-study program where it covers 50% of the wages students earn at small businesses.
The university will hold a virtual event on March 11 to explain the details, and those interested can register online.
The program used to only be available to on-campus or nonprofit organizations but is now open to small businesses.
The program covers internships and work-study programs.
“We’ll discuss the differences between the work-study program and student internship opportunities and help you understand more about how to make the experience a successful one for both you and the student,” a website statement said.
The work study program is open to nonprofits and small businesses. Work study students can work anywhere in the state.
Nonprofits, startups and small businesses from all industries can participate in the internship program.
