Federal disaster loans are available through the U.S. Small Business Administration, and Gov. Tony Evers is urging those affected by severe weather in August to apply.

The low-interest disaster loans are available to residents and businesses affected by Wisconsin’s intense storms that took place on Aug. 9-12. It is estimated that tens of millions of dollars in damage resulted from the storms.

Nearly $30 million was made available to the state. The low-interest loan offerings through the SBA are separate from the Individual Assistance programs offered through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
