Sista’s Chicken & Fish has officially opened its first brick-and-mortar location at 1129 S. Park St.
The business built a strong following as a popular food truck before opening its full-service restaurant in south Madison.
The restaurant is owned by Nisa and Freddie Carter, who are active members of the Madison Black Chamber of Commerce, earning multiple recognitions during Madison Black Restaurant Week, including Favorite Food Truck in 2024 and 2025.
“This has been a long journey — from starting in my family’s garage on the south side to building our food truck, and now opening our first restaurant,” Nisa Carter, co-owner of Sista’s Chicken & Fish, said in a statement. “I’ll always love the food truck, but this is a new chapter for us. The south side is home — I was raised here, my children grew up here, and to open our restaurant in a place filled with so many memories means everything. We’re excited to welcome the community into this space.”
