Shopbop to close its only retail store

Bop, Shopbop’s only retail store, will close at the end of this month as the clothing company turns its focus to its growing online business. Two full-time and nine part-time positions will be eliminated, but the Madison corporate office on East Washington Avenue plans to add 80 positions over the next year in IT and customer service. Acquired by Amazon in 2006, Shopbop also has an office in New York City.
