Online, high-end fashion retailer Shopbop — spun out of the clothing store, Bop, that occupied a spot near the corner of Gorham and State streets from 1999–2014 — is opening a pop-up store at 512 State St., according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
The pop-up store will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Bop’s founding and the growth of Shopbop, which was purchased by Amazon in 2006 and sells clothing worldwide. Shopbop has hundreds of employees and a 210,000-square-foot facility on the city’s near east side.
The pop-up store will offer free customization for some apparel, accessories, beauty products, and more. There will be an Oct. 25 in-store shopping event with Shopbop’s senior fashion director, Caroline Maguire, as well as a UW–Madison tailgate before the football game against Penn State.
The opening of the pop-up shop coincides with the Madison Night Market’s final event of the season on Oct. 17 from 5–9 p.m.
