Cornblooms, a popular Madison shoe store since the early 1970s, will close by the end of the year, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
The store started on State Street and more recently moved to Hilldale Mall, but owner Jeanette Riechers, who purchased it with her late-husband in 1999, said it just wasn’t meeting sales expectations.
Riechers also recently closed Madison Sole, another State Street shoe store that they had owned since 2002.
