A group consisting mostly of private Wisconsin investors has provided another $2.4 million in financing to SHINE Medical Technologies of Monona, bringing the company’s total investments from all sources to $30 million since the company was founded in 2010.

SHINE plans to build a $100 million plant in Janesville that will manufacture molybdenum-99, which decays into technetium-99m, a radioisotope used in more than 80,000 medical-imaging procedures each day worldwide.
