Janesville-based nuclear technology company SHINE Technologies is expanding its distribution of a cancer treatment product to the United Arab Emirates through an agreement with Dubai’s Modawina Medical Co., WisBusiness reports. The partnership will bring SHINE’s Illumira product to UAE patients, with Modawina Medical Co. providing the product to nuclear medicine centers there.
Illumira is a radiopharmaceutical product used for targeted cancer therapies that limit damage to nearby healthy cells. SHINE’s site can support the production of up to 100,000 doses each year for global distribution. The company’s latest move aims to expand access to its products in other markets and strengthen the supply chain for medical isotopes.
SHINE’s fusion-based technology was originally patented through the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation.
