A resolution has been reached between Syovata Edari, a local attorney and owner of CocoVaa Chocolatier in Madison, and candy giant Mars Inc.
According to the Wisconsin State Journal, Edari asked that the court dismiss the case she brought against Mars in July because an “amicable solution” had been reached.
Terms of that resolution are unknown, but Edari does get to keep her business name.
Mars Inc. had sued the local chocolatier for trademark infringement in April claiming that the CocoVaa name could be confused with its CocoaVia brand of nutritional supplements.
A judge threw the case out, but after learning Mars was likely going to sue again, Edari countersued.
