Noel Quintana is finally back home in Madison as of Saturday morning after being detained in Indiana for 85 days, the Wisconsin State Journal reported.
Quintana, who owns the downtown restaurant Señor Machetes with his wife, Ofelia Garcia Anchondo, was detained at O’Hare International Airport by Immigration and Customs Enforcement while trying to fly back to Madison on Jan. 27.
Quintana and his wife are both noncitizens but have Permanent Resident Cards, commonly called green cards.
Around April 16 a federal immigration judge ordered the termination of his removal proceedings and granted him bond, but since the Department of Homeland Security issued an intent to appeal the decision, he had to remain detained.
