A Senate vote on Wednesday passed legislation to nullify U.S. tariffs on Canada, according to the Associated Press.

Canada has traditionally been a close trade partner of the U.S., but rising tariffs have led the country to diversify its export destinations.

The resolution won’t take effect, but it has been a method Democrats have used to show division between Republicans and President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

The Senate passed a similar resolution applying to Brazilian tariffs on Tuesday, with the same four Republicans, Sens. Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Rand Paul of Kentucky, voting on the side of Democrats.
