The U.S. Senate approved Homeland Security money to pay TSA workers and most other agencies on Friday morning, the Associated Press reported.
The House will consider the funding on Friday as well.
The government has been in a partial shutdown for 42 days as the battle over funding for the Department of Homeland Security continues. The Senate-approved funding does not include measures Democrats wanted to help control immigration officer activity that has been prevalent, especially in Minnesota, since the beginning of the year.
Democrats said they would continue to seek changes on immigration policing measures.
